Select the table in your writing app, or from a web page, and copy to the clipboard.

If you are working with an existing table..

Start the Markdown Tables app, tap the + button and choose Import From Clipboard.

Step four

Edit the table using Markdown Tables.

If creating a new table then you may want to tap the + button and create a new table with a specific size

Step five

Tap the export button to copy the table to the clipboard, and paste into your writing app.

Drafts

Tables from the Markdown Tables will work in preview for both flavors of Markdown supported by Drafts. Paste tables or on iPad use drag and drop.

Day One

Tables from Markdown Tables should be pasted into Day One and not dragged. You should always have the header row turned on otherwise Day One will not recognise the table.

iA Writer

Paste tables or on iPad use drag and drop. Preview will correctly render the tables.

Pretext

The preview in Pretext doesn't currently support Markdown Tables. However you shouldn't have any issue adding tables to your Markdown content - you'll just need to use a different app if you want to render them in HTML.

Simplenote

Paste tables or on iPad use drag and drop. Preview will correctly render the tables.

MWeb

Paste tables or on iPad use drag and drop. Preview will correctly render the tables.

Ulysses

Switch Markdown Tables to export HTML. Start a raw block (~~) to include a table. Now paste the exported HTML.

Bear

You'll want to enable 'Markdown compatibility mode' in Settings / General. You can then paste tables into Bear. The Bear renderer doesn't support tables currently so you'll want to export to Markdown and view elsewhere.

Paste tables or on iPad use drag and drop. You'll need to use a header row for tables to be rendered correctly when previewing in 1Writer.

WordPress iOS app

Switch Markdown Tables to HTML export, and your WordPress post to HTML mode.
